Georgia on my mind
In the morning I'm off to the airport to catch a flight to Atlanta where I'm taking a course on Instructional Design. It's taught by one of the British gurus in the field. It helps that he's also a friend of mine.
I was previously a lot more excited about this trip. I think I've used up all my excitement though - or at least my energy. Kevin & I have both been going non-stop since the beginning of June. It pretty much started with the Buffett concert back on June 8. We've had events or large deadlines ever since, and this week Kevin also has the pager (on call 24/7). I think it will all end soon, but I'm not sure. The deadlines keep cropping up, I have Opera rehearsals starting soon, and we have our regular Opera tickets as well. Oh gosh, I'm tired.
Saturday morning, quite early, I fly home and that night is an Opera performance of L'Etoile.
Unrelated, but on Sunday I broke my toe! I realize it's not a really serious ailment, but for me, it's a new one. I woke up Monday morning shocked to find my little toe had turned black and was at a funny angle. By Monday night I had stubbed it again and we ended up at Urgent Care because I wasn't sure what to do. They confirmed the break and sent me away with ibuprofen and a prescription for one of those funny-looking velcro shoes. I decided to pass on the shoe.
