Jerry Orbach, RIP

I'm sort of addicted to Law & Order (the original) and Law & Order: SVU.  I can't even remember who got me hooked on the original - maybe John?  Anyway, at any given time, I fully believe you can flip the stations on your cable/satellite and find at least one airing of an episode from the Law & Order franchise.  And most likely, that episode will be anchored by Jerry Orbach (Det. Lenny Briscoe).
I loved Jerry Orbach's character because he was so stereotypically lovable but abrasive. He had a lot of character flaws, but you wanted to hug him anyway.  I was sad when he finally left the show this year, but excited to hear he might be taking part in another L&O show later this year. I also loved Jerry Orbach as Baby's father, the dr, in Dirty Dancing and as the voice of Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast
Jerry Orbach passed away last night from prostate cancer, at the age of 69.
